SHANE MURTON - EDITOR
Editor of Fishing SA magazine Shane Murton is a university qualified journalist, with an undergraduate degree in English and a postgraduate journalism degree complimenting considerable writing and photographic experience pertaining to fishing photojournalism.
Shane has actively written for numerous national fishing magazines and has a large portfolio of over several hundred feature articles published in Modern Fishing, Fishing World, NAFA, Saltwater Fishing Australia, Fishing Tips & Techniques, Southern Fisheries, Barra, Bass & Bream, Sport Fishing Australia and several other national titles.
Before starting up Fishing SA magazine he co-authored ‘Angling on Lower Eyre Peninsula’ and produced two popular locally made DVDs on Whyalla snapper and Kangaroo Island. He has since edited a national monthly fishing title for several years and has over 50 national magazines as the editor to his name.
Shane has always been a keen angler. Up until the age of 17 he lived on Kangaroo Island, before moving to the seaside city of Port Lincoln and then later Ceduna on SA’s far west coast, and he’s a knockabout country lad at heart. Currently, the magazine is based south of Adelaide, again in an area where the editor can sneak a line in at the drop of a hat when he’s not hitting the keyboard!
Capturing the essence of fishing in SA and promoting the opportunities SA has to offer is his aim with Fishing SA magazine.
